Took it over to Bobby's house to use his sweet backyard rock crawling pile.

Trashed on it for awhile and figured out I had a brakeline up front hitting a lower shock mount at full stuff and turn and it broke off eventually.

Bobby's yard is koool.

I have had Longfield 30 spline chromo axles/birfs in three of my own wheelers and installed countless others. Before that I had treated and ringed ol school Longs in two other wheelers.

Its the support and innovation of folks like Bobby and Tina Long that help our hobby to get to where it is today. Tireless devotion makes this a lifestyle for them and not just another hobby.

I remember the first time I seen "John Deere" when I was a kid. That was Bobby's old cruiser with tractor tires and a 440 mopar.

Thanks Bob for all your patience and building tips over the years.

Moab is on the list also. Would like to hit the Benders jambo also.

Thanks for the invite, half to look ya up when its time.

Took it out to a Poker run at Elbe Hills (my local ORV park/back yard).

Had a sloppy fun time and enjoyed the low COG all day.

It needs more help! I wanted to try and kill it before leaving for KOH next week so I would have to put a newer reliable 22RE in it.

So after dunking it in the mainline mudhole at Elbe Hills and caking the radiator and then following the slowest herd of no air moving jeeps my knockin ass junker was running real hot and it now knocks even louder than before. I know it wont last long out in the trials next time. Plus that carb sux too. Fxxx that carb.
Carb, if you are listening, fxxx you in your stupid ass, your outta here.

SO....

Got the engine out. Quick and easy.

Got the new harness and EFI stuff all laid out.

Got the replacement engine tore apart and found all kinda of problems.

Got stuff from the auto parts store.

Going to get the new engine back together and back in tomorrow.

Hoping to get it wired up and running by thursday (plan A).
If its a junker/knocker than Ill have 2 days to get a different one in and I should be OK. (plan B)

I hope plane A works cuz plan B is going to be cutting it close.

good luck with the replacement, and updates?

Yeah with all the KOH excitement I forget to update this.

The EFI swap went very well and kicked ass at the hammers.
Way better power and it was nice to wheel with no knocking.

First on is finishing up the EFI engine swap.

Second one my rug and the car we were prepping for the KOH race.

Third was my rig and a jeep on my trailer ready to head south for KOH.

Couple pics of the lake bed.

First on is when we got there. We were there before most of the setup staff even. Got lots of wheeling in.

Second one is during the week of the race. Insane.

Well I beat the helll out of the truck for a week and a half on as many trails as I could run at the hammers and the truck worked perfect.

So in perfect form, we hadnt even been home a week and decided to run Elbe. I was feeling a little spoiled. It felt good to be back at sloppy ol home again.

I had just finished up building this buggy before leaving for the hammers and this was the first time I got to see it in action.
