I know. It sounds too good to be true. It doesn't even have a plug to power it.

But it is simple and it does make ice...if you put it in the freezer. Most of us with dual-zone portable fridges haul ice in them from time to time. I've done this with a skinny Igloo water jug. But it takes up a lot of space and it does not MAKE ice. This item does and as it turns out fits perfectly in the end of my Iceco APL 55 that you usually run as the frozen section. It makes more than enough for several drinks.

Even comes with its own set of tongs. Obviously, you can't make ice with this while sloshing down the trail, but once settled in camp it should do the job in a couple of hours.
Now, I do have a countertop icemaker which I built a box to carry it in, but it takes up a lot of space and I have to run the inverter to run it. As it turns out, I take it along from time to time, but not nearly so much of the time when I wish I had some ice. The little icemaker is small enough to always accompany me to camp.
