I have a 94' with the PAIR valve in the way of a York compressor install. Does anybody have pictures or a write-up on how they moved their valve out of the way? I looked around a little today, but I didn't see any obviously good solutions.

Thanks,

I moved mine to the trash can. Tapped the exhaust manifolds to accept pipe plugs and plugged the air box opening. I also retrofitted the hard pipe that comes off the thermostat housing to one from a 95+. Lots of room now for a York.

Hey gotmud - any pics of your pair removal or a thread. I've found a couple threads but not a whole lot of info in them.

No pics posted. I'm in the process of getting my engine back in though, so I'll post up some pics when I finish.

I was hoping to not move mine to the trash, just cause I don't know what my life holds for me or when/if I'll move to a visual inspection state. I'm guessing the trash-can is one of those no-no locations in those states.

I suppose I could remove it and cap things off in such a way that I could reinstall it before inspection if needed.

Does the engine throw a code with it off and turn the CEL on? Have you gone through emissions with it off and passed/failed?

Cheers,

Talk to Great Lakes Water Jet. If you have one of the York Brackets from the Group Buy I started then you are owed the block off plate for the PAIR valve free of charge. The intent was always to block it off for those trucks with a PAIR valve.

I missed out on the group buy, heard about it too late. I'm going to try to get a bracket made myself. Challenging as I don't have access to a welder and don't yet have relationships with local fabricators. But I needed a compressor this most recent trip and already have a cleaned up York, so my planning begins with moving/trashing that valve.
