Motor seized?

Can you give a little more history on the 80? Was it running before? You did not have to pull the radiator out but now since your there give it a good inspection too.

The 80 ran fine up until the time it sat for a while. It's a third vehicle and I thought the starter needed rebuilding or replacing . But it sat because I could not find time for it. It never showed signs of an engine failure or ran hot. The 80 probably has not run since January.

I would rule out the battery 1st. Check all your connections from the battery. Try jumping it. If that doesn't work then it might be the starter. I doubt the motor is seized.

Update......sorry these updates are every few days, work has been crazy and I only get a couple hours here and there to tinker. I removed the radiator and fan shroud, it needed to be replaced anyways, I originally was able to put the breaker bar on the crank bolt and rotate a few degrees, if I had to guess, maybe 1/4-1/2 revolution. After that it is stuck. The plugs are removed, is there anything else that I need to remove to get this thing to rotate? The gear for the dizzy? Will that keep the crank from rotating? I removed the starter and didn't replace it, because I figured if I can't turn it by hand, the starter is not going to turn it either (am I right in ass-uming this?). Since the beginning, there was never any sign of this engine failing, I simply parked it one day, went to start it up and the battery was dead, replaced the battery, and the starter was, "clunking onto the flywheel". It sat for a while, cause I had zero time to deal with a starter rebuild/replace. So, here I am today with a attempting to get manual rotation out of the motor. I just wanna make sure I am not missing anything really simple and stupid to get this thing to spin. Thanks again for all the feedback and patience with me not being able to wrench on this thing every time someone come up with a possible solution.

If you cannot rotate it
Plugs are out
Starter is off
radiator and fan shroud out
Belts are off
Still cannot turn? Things to look for are: Broken timing chain, seized rod or main bearings, broken (dropped) valve.

Pull the valve cover and inspect the dizzy, cams, timing chain, valve train. If still nothing, pull the engine and get in touch with the guy that just hit a deer and buy his engine.
