motor mounts

I have a 80 yota 4×4 pickup, im goin from a 20r to a 86 or 87 22re. Do i need to buy motor mounts?

Nope, unless busted. Same stuff.

You might have to actually drill out or just "waller out" (for lack of a better term) the holes on your first gen rubber mounts to work with the newer frame or vice versa.

I just did the exact same thing and the mounts are identical. I put a 22RE out of an 87 4Runner in a 1980 pickup and everything bolted right up.

Edit: I used the mounts from the 4Runner because my mounts on the 20R were broken.

Aha I was thinking of the alignment pin on the rubber mounts where it bolts to the engine block mounts. The older style rubber mounts should bolt right up to the newer frame and since you are using the motor from the 1980 it will all work from there.
