I've searched the archives, but my question remains regarding motor mounts for my 55 F-engine. I've figured out that I should use the new square mounts in the front, but what about the rear mounts? Is my only option to use the original tall cylindrical mounts from $OR (for $85 a piece), or is their an aftermarket version? All I've seen from various parts stores are the shorter conical rear mounts for an FJ40. Any help is much appreciated.

I would be concerned that washers would create a weak point, unless you had washers sized to matched the footprint of the square mount. Am I just being over cautious?

a little, the washers i am referring to are those big giant fender washers. you can also make a square spacer from a piece of flat stock. you can even go so far to cut off the frame brackets and make new ones a little higher.
