title says it, i aint getting any gas to motor, i live in southeast wisconsin and its been rather cold the past few days, and my truck has been sitting since wednesday. i tried to start it today and all it did was crank. i shot some ether into the intake and it ran, than sputtered and died right away. i cracked open the cold start injector fuel line and tried crankin it hopin to see fuel shoot out, but nothing.
i looked at the under dash fuse box and noticed the connectors for the efi fuse look as if they have gotten too hot at one point in time.... i had a similar issue last week and i jiggled the fuse and it started just fine. i replaced the fuse with 3 different ones but still the same outcome. Im a college kid and have class on monday, so i need to get this thing running tomorrow. any ideas as to where to start my hunt?

the "got to hot" would worry me. check the wiring going to the fuel pump and make sure it hasnt rubbed though anywhere, making a ground with the body/frame.

also you could disconnect your fuel pump (outside of tank) put 12v right to the connector and see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on.

Could be circuit opening relay. Try the fuel pump test jumper trick, outlined here:

http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/index.shtml#FuelPump

Install a short wire in the fuel pump test plug, and the pump should come on with the key in the on position. Without this jumper, the pump will only work with the key in the start position or the engine running.

Where did you hook up the switch? Do you mean you ran power back to the fuel pump directly to run it, or did you put a jumper in the fuel pump test plug (would only take 30 seconds to do)?

If putting a jumper in the test plug cures your issue, your fuel pump is not kicking on when you try to start the truck. The most likely problem is the circuit opening relay, or the wiring going from the ignition to the relay, or relay to fuel pump. All that plug does is bypass the CO relay all together, so the fuel pump has power anytime the key is in the run or start position.

That same website has all kinds of diagnostic troubleshooting you can do to determine where the issue is. If you have access to a truck that starts/runs fine, I'd just pull the CO relay from it and put it in mine to test. Only take 30 min, and could save quite a bit of troubleshooting.

i wired in a whole new switch so i have to flip the switch on to turn the pump on, i dont have a garage i can use so im stuck outside in 20 degree cold and limited sunlight... im going to have to do more checking in it when i gt more light

Gotcha. I understand how that goes. My 4runner won't fit in the garage unless I air down, and the FJ40 won't fit unless i put it on itty bitty tires, so I do a lot of wrenching in the driveway. When you get a chance try that jumper test, I'm betting it will run fine with the jumper. Let us know.
