Advice from a pro....I have been in collision repair since I was 15, and fix over 65 cars per month.

Take it to a REAL body shop, not a mom and pop collision place, not a cut corners we'll save your Deductible shop. A real, honest body shop. In California there is a large chain that I could recommend but I work for them so I am prohibited from directly naming the company. Let's just say the name begins with a C and they are one of the largest in the country.
me.

+1 for Caliber. Used them more than I've preferred. :-)

I've though about that too, but in this case it wouldn't have seen anything until the guy was on the hood...

Ok new question: Can you make a comprehensive claim on top of a collision claim?

Not for the same event. Goes back to proximate cause of accident.

Now if you had a rock hit your windshield after accident, then yes.

It's probably going to be a no fault type of situation being no one was cited and the moto guy admitted to speeding. Just thank your lucky stars the rider was not injured.

Definitely, thanks @Bismarck. So we got a quote from California Custom on Friday. They went really overboard, to the point that I laughed at the manager. Mind you, my paint has been fading for a while, all over the vehicle, and looking cherry is not my goal at this time. Nonetheless, I was quoted for a new: Fender (both sides, passenger is still in great condition), hood, hood insulation (still in great condition), front bumper (still in great condition), fender liners (still in great condition), new running boards (seriously?), new driver's door including glass (why???), new driver's mirror, new headlights and fog lights (I JUST put on new depos for all 4 units, like 2 months ago... they're cherry). Anyway, after all that BS and labor, we're quoted around $3.5k. NO THANKS. So frustrating.

In other news, motorcyclist's insurance lady hit us up on Friday afternoon so I'm hoping to hear back from her today. Not sure what she wants to talk about, but I'll all in for new developments. Just want this to be over with asap...

Sounds like overkill, and estimate sounds low for all that, but if your insurance company approves it, your cost is $500....and not that, and you may get that back if they subrogate against the other company, but unlikely. Adjuster probably wants a 'recorded statement' from you finance. "Just the facts mam"

I expect both companies will cover their loss under no fault and move on. Don't worry about fault at this point, and get as much as you can out of the repair. Check your policy for rental coverage, you're going to be without a truck for a couple of weeks.
