You 8511have noticed the difference in the horns, though, between the 2 sites. Just because they are Hella Supertone doesn't mean they are the same horns with the same sound. Notice the total DB and also the high and low hertz. Makes a big difference in sound tone.

Also, do not get the kit that has two horns with the same sound frequency- get the differing frequencies to have a more interesting sound.

After reading these posts and honking my winpy horn all day in my new 40.....I decided the hella's would be a good purchase.

Did a litle surfing and ended up ordering another set from GOD FORBID...4wheelparts...

$48.00 total.

hope they come this year... :D

If you want to be really annoying, get the dual horns with the same frequency & use the tuning screw on one or both to tune them to slightly different frequencies. The sound waves "build" (remember high school physics?) & it really makes them LOUDER & VERY ANNOYING!

Glad you guys got on this side of the horn answer. The train horns were approaching $600 with compressor & tank(s). The Hella Twin Supertones won't even require changing the wiring. But they probably won't make anyone move over on I25, either.

Has anyone actually installed these Hella horns? They look good, but I just want to make sure they have a good, deep sound and won't sound like the toy girly horns I've got now.

I think I'm going to buy a new horn myself

Go find a semi-truck parts yard and you can score an air horn cheap. I picked up a free 53 Peterbilt air horn off the top of the cab of a truck my friend had for parts. I hooked it up to a 5 gallon reserve tank and that thing would knock you off your feet. I got rid of it because it was to tempting to use on Bay Area freeways. I do have to admit that nothing sounds cooler than a full 10 second reverberation off the skyscaper walls of the financial district on Market Street in S.F. during another one of the nutcase rallies. The cops thought is was funny when the idiot with the megaphone was drowned out. 8)
