Is Cyclo-cross harder than mountain bike racing? It sure looks tougher than road racing!

In my opinion yes! There really isn't any nice downhill descents to rest a bit. I'm pretty much bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time

Unlike road racing there is no peleton to roll with either.

Nothing like riding along at cardio redline then have to jump off your bike and sprint up a hill

Sadistic fun for sure.

Hmmm...I really hammer on the mountain bike, but I bet I'd blow out a ventricle or knee in cyclo cross.
It really looks like a cool sport. I think I'll keep an eye out for a local race to watch.

Check out youtube for some video of races. The Europeans get especially rowdy. Lots of cowbells, waffles, beer and even a bit of bike racing.

I got into SSCX this year. Loads of fun. And pain!!

Cyclocross is the heat!

Really enjoyed cyclocross last year. Didn't get to race this season because work had me really busy.

We had a Wednesday night series, lights really made it exciting!

I just picked up a Ridley X-Ride. We ride gravel roads all the time here and I get the best of both worlds (Road/MTB) on it. First ride was 60 miles with no problems. Cross looks painful - watched the CrossVegas races last fall.
