My buddy just got an HDJ81, and the moon roof is leaking, anyone here ever replaced the seal, or know a decent shop in the lower mainland that can fix it? Or is it easy enough to just get the seal and fix it yourself?

Is it a sliding OEM moon roof or a solid glass one. I had the same thing on my Safari when I got it. It has an OEM power roof. The problem wasn't the seals but the drains. The solution was -with the truck parked on level ground - to open up the roof and pour water along the edge both front and back to see if it would disappear. Mine has 4 tubes (two front and two back) to drain away water. I found 3 of the four tubes were blocked. I then took a 8' length of stiff wire, looped back the end so the wire wouldn't puncture the tube and fed it all the way through each tube a couple times. I have never had a problem since.

I'm pretty sure it is the opening type, i'll have to check with him and try that. thanks
on my 94 fzj80, i cleaned the drains with an air hose but the problem still is the sunroof glass seal, and u cant just buy the seal, u have to buy the glass, some good thread in the 80 section on this, i just took some weather stripping for now and it helps but eventually i'll change the sunroof tracks and glass, phone cdan for a price quote
