I am thinking of converting one into an overland rig.

Anybody do this? Anybody have any leads on parts/problems?
 
The OM642 is plagued with issues, majority of issues stem from poor oil choice and over extending the service interval. Best oil to use is the commercial heavy duty oil MB228.51 but not at all used by any dealership for passenger cars. The next best is MB229.52
All else are utter shiite!
