Hi All,
Hope your day is going well.
I have a 1993 FJ80, US.
I have a crack in my muffler. Previous owner hit something as there is a bend too.
I was going to replace it myself.
Parts 4 and 5.
I ordered this
1 x Tail Pipe Assembly 93-97 (17405-66010)
1 x Muffler 93-94 (17403-66030)
1 x Muffler To Tailpipe Exhaust Gasket Rear 93-97 (90917-06076)
1 x Down pipe to Catalytic Gasket 93-97 (17451-52060)
I assume these don't come with the nuts and bolts I need.
So my questions are.
How do I find out what the nuts and bolts are. I doubt I'll be able to save them.
Can you confirm my logic.
Based on this diagram I assume.
Qty 4 X 94180-41000
Qty 4X 91511-61035
That will give me the 4 and 5 .
Now someone said I might have to cut the items that hold the 4 and 5.
So nuts 90179-06007 qty 4
and
I might as well replace the bumpers that might get damaged.
So
17430G and 17430T.
17567-17010 - "Will fit either of the 3 positions illustrated by number 17430B, 17430G or 17430T"
Anything you think I am missing ?
Question 2.
I need to separate 2 and 3.
The bolts are pretty bad but not horrible.
How would you go about separating them.
I have a MAP pro
and I have a Makita impact battery operated.
Do I impact first and then try to torching until it impacts
or do I torch, then pb-blast, then wait a day and try the impact to avoid shearing them.
Any value in cleaning it with a metal brush to maybe get the liquid in better and wrapping some cotton wool, fabric to get it to soak
or just apply, come back in 30, apply and rinse repeat.
I don't have much experience with rusty bolts.
I assume this being exhaust temps it is even worse.
Thank you for your help.
