Have any of you had one of your side mirror cameras fail? I guess I don’t know for certain that I’ve had a camera failure, but the image below is what I’m seeing when I try to use the birds-eye-view feature while parking.

This happened yesterday morning out of the blue. Later, in the afternoon, I turned on the camera view and suddenly the camera was back to working. But then today, it was back to black again…

Just curious if camera failures are common on the 200 series? Kind of disappointing. This is a 2021 LC, and I actually just replaced the entire drivers side mirror assembly 6 months ago.

Same problem here on my 16.

PSA:
It is likely to be the camera cable failing within the door jam/wire loom, see attached pictures of mine. 2016 w/ 120k miles. Unfortunately I went the route of a new camera 1st and the hold-your-tongue right disassembly of the driver mirror and replacing it. It wasn't that bad of a repair, but I think it was unnecessary time spent as I would bet the old one still works too, if it wasn't for the camera cable.
I'm working on replacing PN 82152-60S30 (Front Door Wire Left Hand), I suspect that will fix it.

It should be a straight forward repair, 4 connectors inside the kick panel, fish pretty easily through the door jam, and replace door harness.
Could I splice/fix the 4 broken wires in there? Probably, but I would spend more time jacking with it than I care to so I'm just eating the $300 to swap it out.

I'll either save a good chunk of the old one or fix it one day when I have time for that option if it happens again in the future.

Wow! Thanks for sharing what you figured out. That would make sense (in my case) for it to be the cable as well, given that I have a newly replaced (<1 year old) mirror assembly.

Strangely, I had this issue on and off for 2 or 3 days, and then I haven't had any issues since then. But I suspect it will come back in the future. I'll take a look at the camera cable whenever this problem comes back. Thanks again.

It could be some section of the cable in the door, either data or power that's intermittent but found a happy place (for now.)

I did the fix this morning and I'm glad I went the route of replacing the harness. When removing the old harness, the clips were quite snug and 3 or 4 didn't survive removal even with a good clip tool. If trying to repair the section, I think it would have been possible but would have been a little more ugly and not as secure as it should be with the clips that halfway broke. Could you duct tape it or "kinda" make it fit and hold- yea. But I'd rather not have some stupid ass rattle, thunk, clunk, or noise pop up, or worse yet a different and new cable problem.

It looks and feels like the particular camera cable has been updated, more silicone and much easier to bend.
