dear lord....

lemmy guess. they build them for wealthy clients?

A really low budget and still a very capable offroad truck would be an icelandic build. 2" BL, allmost no spring lift. Cut like crazy to fit 37s or something... buy aussielockers and have fun!!!

Works in this part of the world... ;)

He mentioned farm/chores. There is absolutely no need for a lift on a farm. I lived on 400 acres, lots of terrain challenges and my stock truck, no diff locks with Mud Terrains did just fine. When a farm gets wet and muddy, folks usually do not do chores any way-at least here they don't and I am around lots and lots of farmers.

IF you plan on doing chores in that type of environment i.e. wet, muddy fields, go with an ATV. Locked rears do nothing but slide the rear end around on wet pastures/going up muddy wet hills. As well, I do not see how you could load your atv up with all the necessary tools to so farm work/chores. A pickup is clearly the best choice for that-just have to pick your terrain battles.

Just my .02.

I live on a farm (1200 Acres Now) with the majority of it along the river in a flood plane. My grandpa drives one thing on the farm: 96 1ton GMC 4x4 Dually. IT gets stuck everyday it seems, especially in the mud. The man just cant stay out of it. Its like the 400horses of 5mpgs speaks to him at every waking moment. It has a GOV-loc rear end and it seems to triple the mess he makes.

Last time I got stuck in my little toy trying to pull him out (funny heh?), then my moms heep (lockerd F/R, 38.5s) got stuck trying to get me out and my uncles 40 (lockerd F/R 36s) got stuck trying to get her out. So we ended up winch a 4 truck train out of 1" of mud. Not normal mud, the mud you get after the soils been underwater for more than a week and you can litterally push your rig in any direction.
BTW: He likes driving my hilux more because it fits in the places his wont.
