Ok, so no promises, but there's a halfway decent chance I'll stop by this shop this coming week.

I'm going to go down to visit the wife for a few days in Hood River Orygun, which is about a 2 hour drive from Newburg where metaltech is.

I'll be driving the mighty CRV so there are limits to what I could pickup, but if I do in fact go there, I don't mind grabbing something.

I'm thinking of one of their front cage kits for me, always lusted after them a bit since I saw one spread out at the Crusty Compound many moons ago.


Lots of reasons why this could end up not happening tho.

I could get detained at the border because Cam's people have been alerted that I made fun of his doll fetish,

or I may just not feel like the 4+ hour round trip from hood river to the shop by the time I get there. Maybe I'll head that way before coming back north, we'll see.

But, I'm kindof 60/40 about it right now so I figger that's a decent enough likelyhood that I'd float it out there.

made it to hood river at about 2am, and this morning I stumbled across a big windsurf swap meet and picked up a pretty cool board and fin for the kingly sum of 10 bucks...already glad I came down.

now to the pub for the game, we'll see if I can get them to change one of the tv's from baseball or golf....

see now, in the spirit of world peace, cross border fellowship and landcruiser man hugs they gave me these two mugs saying I should give one to the other guy ordering tube, and I was going to, but now you've gone and sullied all the sunshine and rainbows with ransom demands.

So I'm now officially charging you one beer mug for shipping.



good news is, I convinced the guy coming to buy my giant boat trailer to come on thursday, so I can delay heading back for a day, so I"m back to having the 700 dollar personal exemption at the border.

kinda dumb that it's not pro rated, it's just 200 after 48 hours, and 700 after 4 days. so at 3.5 days you're getting screwed.

So I'll bring yours and linemans stuff with me, and leave my cage bits with mel to bring up on the weekend.


you going to be around early afternoon on wednesday? that's probably when I'll be headed through vic. Although, if it works out the duke point ferry is better timewise, I'll take it.

yeah, it'll be wednesday for sure. gonna hang out here in hood river for another day, watch the game, and get moving at the crack of stupid tomorrow, so I get home at a reasonable time.

but I might just hit the duke point ferry, I'll be pretty sick of driving by that time and catching el duce saves an hour or more of it, so can meet up on the weekend or something.

You have some decent beer down there? Terminal gravity IPA, Hop harvest, IPA, IPA and more IPA??? Jubule Ale? Sofa king good! And I can't anymore!

Yeah, lots of good beer, pub called Horsefeathers where we watched a couple of the games, micro brew stuff is all they sell...

Full sail brewing is there too, and there's some other brewerey/pub as well we ate at. good stuff.

never been a big fan of the ipa's down there tho...some of them are a cross between dish soap and Alum from roadrunner cartoons....

Only thing I found was there were so many heavy and tasty fancy beers, I had to get some rolling rock just to have something light once in a while...( coulda had water, but fish fxxx in that stuff....)

Drop top is a nice light one. I really like their use of hops in the IPAs. I saw fat tire in the Liquor Depot in ladysmith for $18 for 6! That crap is $7 or less on sale down there and its some of the lower quality micro brews.

If all goes to plan I might be getting a tow rig out of California... Might not be out of country for 48 hours but I'll let everyone know if I'm heading down there to drive back with a pickup.
