Spent some time for my winch shaft (bj43 1979). Easy start of the shaft restoration.
Decided to post some condensed info, might be useful for the new comers.

Are the spider gears and pillow block bearings still available from Toyota? I have either a 1/79-7/80 or a 8/80-9/82 drive shaft plus the 10/82+ style with another pillow block bearing.

I haven’t checked the later version (27,5 mm shaft, large spiders). For my version the bearings are available (25x52x15), the rest is out of production. The old small spiders I was lucky to buy as New Old Stock.

PS my next challenge is to find the solution for the seals (30x38x6 and 34x54x8) and the large retainer (36x55x7,5). Some owners replace the felt seal + retainer by the rubber seal. I think this is not great. I might do the felt seals by myself and the retainer will do out of the old seal body. Will see
