If you love great sound quality and simple designs then this may be the HU for you! This deck was originally a part of the high end set up for the Subaru Outback designed in upstate New York, by McIntosh using the same design/parts as the famed MX-406 after market head unit...that's right twin 20bit Burr Brown DAC's, no internal amp and etc... Tape deck is on board, fantastic tuner, and DIN cord for adding outboard a McIntosh or higher end Clarion multi-disc changer or sound processor.
However, there is a crack in the glass face plate, but it does not subtract largely from the retro-beauty of this unit. I don't have to mention that these don't show up all the time like the Scion decks, these decks were a valuable upgrade to it's stock vehicle, so their owners don't part them out.
