Sounds and looks like a nice trip, what did you guys think of Gaspard Lake, that was one of the Lakes we hit last year and thought it looked good for a camping spot (especially the little "island").
Chris, so sorry to hear about the accident, I hope you, Conner and the truck are going to be OK.

I really like that point or little island it looks like a popular camp site. When everyone turned around to go back to camp. We the KUIT team carried on threw the gulch onto another meadow and travelled N/W for another hour off the path ( because there was none ) and then turned around (go figure) . In less than a month I am going in by myself or whoever wants to go for one week and really explore taking out the back seat taking the 300 WIN. Mag a minimum of 20 extra gallons of fuel fishing liscence and gear.
Once again it was sad to see Chris's 40 on its side and glad to see that him and Conner were OK to me that picture in my had was DEJA VUE over 20 years ago with one of the many mishaps of my 80 FJ40. Once Again an Awesome trip and now I am beginning to install my Marks Tranfer case ( because I am back from COWTOWN. Thanks COASTAL CRUISERS

Aaron, been there on those trails last year. There is a report of it on here somewhere further back. Great trails, a lot of them forgotten by time. Make sure to have your winch and chainsaw ready, along with a shovel. There are a lot of roads in that spot that have been also cut off by logging so the GPS will be your friend. At one point we had to go for a hike by foot to be able to find the trail again as we could not see it anymore just by driving.

Edit: found what I was looking for:

It was a really good weekend although one thing that I realized on this trip was that the dead pines are very dangerous for fire hazard and fall-downs. I am a bit leery about going into those dead pine forests now because if there was a fire, then it would spread extremely fast. If roads are blocked by fall-downs then we could become crispy critters in no time at all. At the very least, take a chain saw whenever you go into those dead areas.

In the interior now that is pretty much everywhere. The only difference is the gray forests compared to the red forests. The reds will go up much faster as the tress still have their needles (very flamable resins) which enables a fire to crown better. If it is a dry summer, I am sure the gov will be shutting down the bush to prevent a situation of "BC Burning".

Just a few more shots We were at the Back and some shots were when nobody else was around because we did not like going to camp in the HEAT OF THE DAY!

After we broke loose from the group, we toured Gasbard Lake and headed North/West for an hour and then turned around. I within a month would like to continue to explore in that direction with extra fuel ( say 20 xtra gallons on top of a full tank ) Anybody want to explore ?

You might need a "star" beside your name.
