May 20-22 trip to the Churn Cr./Black Dome Mtn./Yodel Cr. area near Gang Ranch

Many of those used Jerry Cans are rusty inside and also leak out the O ring seal when bounced around. Three Vets on Yukon St. in Vancouver sell used metal Jerry Cans. I bought one but don't use it any more on trips. I just use a heavy duty polyethylene one and wrap it in a plastic garbage bag and secure it inside the vehicle. Tie it down and no smoking please! Also, its not legal to have it up on the roof rack.

I shopped around and got two 5 us gallon (22.7L) red plastic gas containers from Home Depot for $9.99 each. They have a nice low profile stance so they shouldn't bounce around in the back of my truck too much. Combine these with two yellow plastic diesel containers I already have (in the traditional jerry can shape) and I'll have close to an extra full tank with me. I haven't used metal ones since I had a truck with a jerry/spare tire rack on the back.

My beef with the other plastic containers at Cdn Tire and NSOR was that they weren't vented in the traditional manner by seperate vent hole on top, but had some newfangled vent built into the pour spout... call me old fashioned... oh, and the newfangled ones were about $15.99 each.

Things are backing up all over the place for me making it not possible to head out on Friday. Looks like Jan and his wife are going to me around my place early Sat morning. That means two vehicle on Sat. Anyone else leaving Saturday morning?

You are more then welcome to drive through to Abbotsford and park/sleep at my place for the night so you can shower/coffee in the AM and then leave with us on Sat. E-mail me at gbowie@shaw.ca for my address.

It looks like three trucks leaving my place early Sat morning. Plan is to meet the rest of you at the campsite. Does that work with the main plan? Leaving around 07:00am from Clearbrook.

Awesome trip! Our group survived the trek with minimal mishaps...kinda! I think Wussypup will be posting up about our trek at some point...I am sure with some perspective of a 1st trip with the CC's...talk about stepping in with both feet! In the meantime...
