I ended up with this damaged toybox 40Justin had, which was originally from lowenbrau’s bj74. Bearing on the input gear failed and caused this. My main interest was the splitcase adapter and output shaft. But I am curious if you find someone able to make the input gears

i bought a few of this toybox with bruce loewen about 20 yrs ago when marlin first make them,i have one in my bj42 for yrs and is still good,i also have one still in box on the shelve that my son waant to install in his bj60 and we are just trying to find out if any body can make parts for the toybox....

@BigMike is also on the forum. Hopefully he can help and then the knowledge can be found again down the road.

Hi bc40,I’m no expert in metallurgy, can someone weld the broken teeth and machine them back to match the rest?

Maybe. I would think with the right heat treating it would work. I think the rest of the gear set could be replaced with new marlin 4.7 gears.

My plan was to use 2.28 gears and a different front adapter instead of putting it behind an h55 again. Will keep these pieces around in case that ever changes. But the rear adapter plate also took damage so need an insert machined in for the pocket bearing before it can be used. Future project

Side note I don’t know how many miles Bruce put on it when it was his, nor after, but the splines inside the input gear still look good. No major wear.
