Joe:

I will bring a couple of gallons of solvent that we use here at work. William used it with no complaints. One bucket for initial soak and cleaning and one for the final rinse. Bring the buckets.

At home I have the throttle body off for cleaning and am doing the valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. How do you get to the back driver side bolt? I want to wind it up before Saturday so I can lend a hand where needed.

Ok. I'll actually bring 6" deep Stainless tubs also, along with some buckets.
I have a rubber glove source also.
Jason has a brass goods, seal tool, and a bent up seal puller.

I'm going to purchase a metric set, that is more organized than my current cigar box setup.

Meet at Brentwood Panera again? 7am or so? Moj is going to probably ride down with me.

Looking forward to it.

I'll tell you all the about the Gerald Trench Collapse rescue story, including visits by semi-intoxicated Godfather Trilogy watching locals. (toothed version)

Back drivers side bolt of valve cover. How do you get to it?

Thanks,

Steve

Another thing to add.

When we were doing my valve cover about 1/2 way through the job, I thought rather than laying on the engine, it would be nice to have a 2x6 or 2x8 to lay across the lift arms on a lift with the nose of the truck under the arms. while standing on a step ladder or something. I think about a 4' or 6' long piece would do. A couple three, would probably really make it comfY.

Something like this.

Hello all. Wondering what the scoop is on saturdays meeting plans. Is there a particular place we are meeting or are we going straight to the workplace. See you in the morning.

Bob

I won't make it that early due to working tonight. I will stop by tomorrow but I'm not sure how long I will be able to stay due to work in the afternoon. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Sorry I've been too busy to stay up on mud. Joe's got it covered - Brentwood Panera at 7am for coffee/breakfast and then caravan over to the shop to get going by 8am.

I'll be working until about midnight, but I'll be ready to go tomorrow morning.

On a side note, check out my soon-to-come post regarding the jeep my buddy Dan built over the past 1 1/2 years (the one only Steve has actually seen wheeling). It was stolen this morning about 10am from his property in Wildwood - we missed the crook(s) by less than an hour. It appears they winched the Jeep and trailer onto another bigger float trailer and bolted. It will probably be in parts on the net by next week. I'll post up another thread about it once I get pics from Daniel.

See you all tomorrow!

Post some more info on Dan's Jeep and I'll make it a sticky in the For Sale section.

Too Funny. You grease monkeys are meeting there for breakfast?

Sorry to hear about your buddy's Jeep William. Start monitoring Craigslist for Jeep parts and I would register for the Midwest Jeep thing Forum and Mid Rivers Jeep thing forum with details about the Jeep and what happened. Maybe they'll help with tips on who might have taken it.

Could you see his Jeep from the road? If not then it was someone who knows him or someone who has been to his house.

Yep - we are already looking for the more recognizable parts on ebay/craig's list (tires, wheels, bumper, winch, seats, rollcage) and he has started calling local clubs and off-road parks.

And it could not be seen from the main road - so we've already decided someone local was involved someway (even if just mentioning to friends that it was a nice target).

I'm still waiting on digital pictures - then I'll start a new thread with all the details.
