if i convert my 40 to disc brakes using man-a-fre's kit can i still intall longfields?

If you will have to have your birfields sent to Longfields.
Do the mini truck or find a new axle and swap that. Check the parts for sale area and post in the wanted for parts.

Hi All:

I agree with "Petescoffee."

Doing the mini-truck swap will allow you to use the fine spline, larger Birfield joints that came with the 1979-85 pick-ups, versus the coarse spline, slightly smaller Birfs that came in drum brake Land Cruisers.

Plus, the mini-truck disc swap is not very expensive not difficult.

Good luck!

No.

Your drum brake parts are not compatible with the larger Longs.

Good luck!
