Anybody ever made their own little bottle of touch up paint from paint left over from a paint job?

Would I need to leave out the hardener or use less or something if I wanted the bottle to stay liquid? Or extra thinner?

I think the hardener just accelerates hardening right? It would eventually harden on its own?

I gave up on the long lasting bottle of touch up idea and just mixed up 2 oz of paint (the smallest I could accurately measure) and made a couple touch ups.

If it's just for touch ups (using a brush for stone chips, scratches etc) don't use Gardner. By the time you get around to using it it will expire (harden). Touch up paint will dry in a longer time without Gardner but it's such a small spot it's fine.
