It usually faces forward but we've been having wet heavy snow days that coat the front of the vehicle, block the headlights and stick to the snorkel grate. I could see an inch of snow/ice build up inside the snorkel so I turned it around. Oh yeah, and it's more streamlined![]()
Coming down from Colorado a couple of years ago with my snorkel pointed forward through a driving wet snowstorm. I had to pull off periodically to clean off my headlights. I also had to clear off the snorkel inlet as it was almost completely occluded with ice.
I usually keep mine faced toward the windshield now. No more issues. It admittedly looks a little odd - but I'm OK with that.
It's in a high pressure zone and not sucking in rain & snow that way. Best of both worlds.
