It usually faces forward but we've been having wet heavy snow days that coat the front of the vehicle, block the headlights and stick to the snorkel grate. I could see an inch of snow/ice build up inside the snorkel so I turned it around. Oh yeah, and it's more streamlined

Coming down from Colorado a couple of years ago with my snorkel pointed forward through a driving wet snowstorm. I had to pull off periodically to clean off my headlights. I also had to clear off the snorkel inlet as it was almost completely occluded with ice.

I usually keep mine faced toward the windshield now. No more issues. It admittedly looks a little odd - but I'm OK with that.

It's in a high pressure zone and not sucking in rain & snow that way. Best of both worlds.

Yeah, I'm down to 8MPG around town but using auto-start in the cold winter month can bring it down to 6MPG - ouch! At $3/GA for unleaded, that's .50/mile for just gas which is ironically, my mileage reimbursement

Laclede is the brand and they're a basic twisted chain - nothing high-end. Based on my tire size, I didn't have too many options locally.

Yeah, I live on lower hillside so we go up the hill to hit the trail heads into Chugach State Park.

I feel you there. I was feeling good about new tie rod ends, relay rod, tie rod, panhard, till someone asked what it all cost and I added it up!

You could possibly change your ring and pinion gear ratio.

It's 6" Slee plus 1" coil spacers, plus 1" body lift plus 1" rear fender trimming plus longer shocks and adjustable camber bushings to get it driving straight again. No anti-sway bars so she has body roll like a baha truck but I rally the piss out of it on road and off.

I ran 4.88's when I had 36's and now have 5.29's with 38's. It's just big and I drive hard
