A very basic example..

We all know that flexion, friction, wrong angles will rob you valuable clearance/feel with the rims and you brakes.

Specialized M4 cyclocross racer..

The rear routing was a absolute joke, so vague, weak, unreliable, tons of drag, brake springs at full tension just to overcome, the brake cable will seat on the top tube like a lazy snake when is suppose to be as tune as a guitar string..

Present you, Stupid trek water bottle for the Y bikes, extruded piece but of good quality.

Tools 4 1/2" grinder with a flapper wheel, some old drill tits and a drill.

Work so much better, Have the spring tension of the brake string, snappy accion, pads 2mm away from rims, just perfect.

Step two, efficient Stem cable routing.

This was actually a "Rolla magic" type clone.

Very tight curves, but very smooth, made it about 12 years zero adjustment zero failures.
