Anybody have experience with the magnaflow cat back exhaust system for the 80 series, mostly I’m wondering about fitment and exhaust note, I’m really not looking for exhaust that sounds ricey.

Fitment is ok, assuming you're bolting up to factory y-pipe and factory cats. If it's been modded for aftermarket cats, you'll be welding. I first one I put on a friends truck the weld joint at the muffler broke after about 6 months. They warrantied it, but then I had to go through the trouble of fitting it again... Exhaust note is factory. Not louder or ricey at all.
When I did my truck, I opted for a custom fabricated exhaust. It was worth every penny, but it was waaaaay more expensive than the magnaflow. If you have a competent exhaust shop nearby, you might consider a quote from them for a custom setup.

Are you referring to the BRExhaust. Fitment was spot on for me. Just wish they made it in stainless steel. Sounds stock enough.

The only one near me blows just seagull s*** welds and he couldn’t competently weld in flanges either and doesn’t have a mandrel bender, yeah the cats are stock and clean up the exhaust so well that I’m blown away by how low the smog numbers are. Do you think if I do buy a magnaflow I should take it to a good welder and have him beef it up or should I just buy the 200$ POS muff from rock auto as the only section I really need is from the Cats to the rear pipe section?

May go that route, I can likely get a sick deal by extorting O’reillys, I’m shop “Foreskin” or Forman ( I’m not sure I barely graduated high school ) at a shop and I can likely twist their arms a bit by threatening them with gang violence or religious prosecution.
Mines all 3" stainless, v-band clamps, and custom hangers. Just material was $1750.
Magnaflow here....had it welded up (custom 3") no cats. Drone at highway speeds but muted sound around d town
