Hey All,
Hopefully it is ok to post this here. We're having a heck of a time finding a decent machinist at UVic. Anyone know a good machinist wanting a change or looking for work in Victoria? It is a two man shop, and there is already a competent machinist in one position.
The salary is ok, with really good benefits, pension, vacation, flextime etc. Only 35hrs a week. Although this job is posted as a 1 year term, it will be made permanent. The work is technical with lots of small stuff, some welding and some wood work. No CNC here at the moment, so traditional machinist skills are a must. A real broad range of work though, and always interesting.
Please PM me if you want more information, or to contact the existing machinist.
Here a link to the job description on UVic's website. https://uhire.uvic.ca/cgi-bin/WebObjects/uhire.woa/wa/vacancy?id=22141&displayGrp1=1 It is going to expire tomorrow, but will be posted again for another week or two. If the link expires, here is the job description.
