Yes, it is. But the 8274 motor is usually longer and you will need the clearance in your mount to run it.

Just did this to my old XD9000 - 12V 8274 motor running 24V

It might be - depends on how old it is, if it is an older 8274 then you are dealing with a keyed shaft - the newer 8274's have a splined shaft.
