Hey,

Thanks to this thread we pulled the trigger on an LX570 2 months ago and I wanted to share what we've done so far.

Frontrunner slimline 2 Rack

- Install was pretty straightforward. Thanks to this forum I knew how to remove the factory rack properly. I did it by myself. Took approximately 5-6 hours, but that included a lot of breaks to deal with the kids. Was a bit sketchy lifting it and placing on the roof alone without causing damage, but still have some muscle left from when I wasn't fat. Really loving the rack so far Seems ridiculously sturdy and all the available attachments are nice though I dont see us buying many because they seem overpriced. Only have the tie down hooks so far.

Tires -

Falken Rubitrek LT275/70/18. Bought these because they are nearly identical to the Falken Wildpeak AT3W we have on our other trucks which we love. These Rubitreks are more rare so that was a plus, possibly a tad quieter because of different tread in the center of the tire and a little cheaper.

Wheels XD Hoss - Wife and I really like the look of these wheels and the offset works. Pictures dont really show the black lip or all the black in between the spokes. These are machined face with black lip. Only thing we didn't take into account was load rating. On paper the 2200lb. Rating on these seem fine, but I came across a thread on these forums where a respected member was saying this was not enough. I've done some pretty extensive google research and these wheels are very popular on Tundras and I can't find one case of them failing. What are your guys thoughts on 2200lb. Wheel rating for the 200 series? Looking at maybe replacing them with the Tundra TRD wheels even though I cant find a load rating for those anywhere, but being OEM Tundra I'm sure it's all good.

Nice looking truck - and interesting choice of tires! I had not noticed the Falken Rubitreks before, but look like they might be a good choice for my next tire - thanks for posting about them.

Wheels:

The only numbers we have access to from Toyota about Load Ratings for the wheels is what engineering has determined as the required Load Limit for the wheel/tire combination.

On the LC200 with P285/60R18 tires @33psi, the Load Limit for that wheel/tire combo is 2,512 pounds.

On the LX570 with P285/50R20 tires @33psi, the Load Limit for that wheel/tire combo is 2,315 pounds.

This tells me two things:

1. The combined Load Limit for wheels/tires is more than the GAWR by design (safety factor to cover live loading vs. static loading?).

2. Any wheel must have a Load Rating at least equal to the design Load Limit.

A wheel with a Load Rating of only 2,200 pounds falls short of the design requirement.

How’s the noise on the rack?

Only taken one long drive with it so far. Had Some minor whistling for some stretches, but that was before I put the fairing on. Since I put that on I haven't had any noise at any speeds up to 65-70 mph. Next long trip at higher speeds I will try to update you.
