I bought a 2011 lx570 with a aftermarket long range fuel tank fitted.
There is a raw fuel smell in the filler area even though the pipes, cap and connections seem sound.
The aftermarket tank sits above the spare wheel area and is higher than the original tank.
I am starting to think the high tank is flooding the charcoal canister causing pressure buildup in the tank with vapour looking for some place to escape
I would appreciate an opinion and possible solution.

I have the same issue. No codes per my Blue Drive code reader. So far I’m living with it. I’ve had the tank for 2 years.

I have a aux tank fitted to mine with no fuel smell issues.

What year was your aux tank installed? What brand? Does your south africa market LX even have a charcoal canister?

I also have no error codes, only the smell. I googled over-fueling impact on the charcoal canister and am concerned as it apparently damages the vehicle long term.

Maybe the fuel cap is leaking vapor?
No codes as if cap was not tight. I even replaced it.
it’s not very day. If I the garage a while I get a whiff.
My installer was weak sauce. I’ll go over the system at some point.

On mine I "T" tapped the aux tank breather into the main tank breather so it was an enclosed system. That is not part of the directions.
