So my Starfire Pearl 13 LX570 was in an incident. I hit a beam backing out of a parking spot and damaged the front fender. Is this worth going through insurance and Lexus to get repaired? Paint is scraped and huge dent. My deductible is $500. Is matching the paint tricky on this color if I just go through a reputable body shop? Any recommendations around the Washington DC area?
Thanks

Go through insurance and go to a good shop. Get your nice truck fixed proper or I think you'll regret it.

By ‘13 paint matching had rounded the corner. A good shop should be able to make it look great. Save the above pic so if you ever resell it and somebody happens to notice you can show them how minor the damage was.

In the early/mid-00’s paint poly became weighted plastic bits instead of metal flake. When sprayed gravity does it’s thing and the poly lines up to look OE. Unlike the ‘old days’ where a damaged/repainted panel stuck out like a sore thumb this newer tech helps to ensure paint matches previously unachievable.

While no damage/no repaint would be best what you have here, if fixed by a decent shop, will be an “oh, nevermind“ in the end.

As a point of reference, I just barely scraped my rear quater panel on my midnight black metallic LC - the total bill was right at 3K for the repair by a USAA recommend shop.

Starfire Pearl can be very difficult to match. My ISF is SFP and when I had some paintwork done they had to do it twice to get the flake right. It is a 3 step painting process. Base, flake, clear. Use a competent shop.

Completely agree and why never buy the white pearl as any damage is difficult to match. Before you choose a body shop interview them about how they will do the color match.

Not sure how far you are willing to travel, but I smacked a deer w my 100 (LX470 - 057 color - the "previous" starlight....kind of a triple pearl - IMPOSSIBLE I was told to match). Insurance wanted to total, I persevered and they agreed to repair.

Anyway, we also spend time in the DC area and I used Jeff's Auto Body, the one across the bay bridge and I was told they are THE best on the east coast. Might be overkill for the dame you have, but my truck was perfectly put back together and paint matched perfectly.

Thank you! I called Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis this morning to see who they use as body shops and they said Jeffs (the one across the bridge in Chester MD). Their reviews look great, except for a couple of unhappy folks. Your positive feedback is good to hear.
