Just wondering if anyone has experienced this kicking in the rear when you go over a bump, it's the same sound/feel when you active the rear solenoid in active test via techstream.

If I'm in High mode it doesn't do it and if I crank up the rear sensor to a higher position it becomes minimal - much smaller kicks and but the back is a lot higher.

I've just put the new globes in - the King springs were in with the old system and the kicking wasn't happening then but the globes were shot.

I'm thinking its a rear sensor but just seeing if anyone has had this issue before...

Any help appreciated!

Could be (a) faulty actuator(s) - the thing(s) the globe screw onto. Do the 12(?) step corner bouncing process thingy..

Cheers, I'll give that a crack and see if it helps diagnose - Although wouldn't it still be doing it in High mode if it was the damper actuators? Also it wasn't happening with the stuffed globes...

Also I should say it FEELS more of a leveling issue than a dampening problem, it's the same sound feeling of the rear leveling solenoid? firing - not to sure what would cause that?

I don’t know. My AHC didn’t give out any sounds audible in the cabin while it was working/leveling.

Off topic but your rear pressure seems high with King springs, are you carrying heavy weight in the back?

Nothing in the back.

I have boosted the back up a bit to stop the back clunking/kicking when going over bumps, I think this has added some pressure.

Best thing I have for a diagnoses is that the clunk sound/car kick is exactly the same as 'Drive the levelling motor down' in Active test.

I'm going to try a new rear sensor, if that doesn't solve it I might try spaces?

I've never heard any sounds either while using the AHC, until these clunks started- only place i've heard it was via the active test solenoid firing - this is all a bit out of my expertise unfort..

I'm surprised to see your rear pressure go up so much just by replacing the rear globes. Is there any air trapped back there in the globes/lines etc?

Possibly, I have flushed it a few times but think it's worth taking another look, cheers - any good tips in flushing air out of the rear?

Also rear was lower to the wheels with the old globes on, that could have affected the pressure but the change does seem a little too dramatic.

I know @MJK replaced his rear globes in the last few months. Maybe he can chime in on what worked for him? I haven't touched mine yet.

Just a bump on this...

New rear height sensor, flushed the system while running to remove any air, took off and re-attached the dampener spheres - still bouncing around and clunking in the rear.

Did the 16 step dampener test and it only happens on the first 6 softest settings.

Still happens with the AHC switched to OFF while driving.

I think I've narrowed it down to either the rear valve assemblys, rear shocks or the control valve assembly.

Would love a better idea if anyone can think of anything before I start buying parts - any insight appreciated!

Not pulling any DTCs from the car :(

Cheers

Have you gotten the rear in the air and taken a pry bar to ensure everything is nice and tight? Springs are on their perches correctly, not rotated, and still have the rubber isolators?

Cheers, this could be a cause as it's equal across both sides of the rear (not isolated to an individual shock or dampener).

I had a shop put them in, could have possibly stuffed something along the way or the springs are affecting the AHC someway - will check them out.

Anyone had issue with aftermarket springs and AHC? Bouncing/clunking/levelling?

Thinking some 30mm spaces could help the pressure.

It sounds like you just need to add some weight. I had a similar issue when I replaced the rear globes on mine. When the rear gets light with low fuel I tend to experience this. I'm running 80 series Dobinson springs. Cycle through L-N after you add weight and see if anything improves

Checked the springs, they're all good.

Interesting Sargy, how much weight did you add?

I had someone bouncing on the tailgate today while I was under the car and it was off, I can hear the clunking sound coming from inside the hydraulic lines running from the control valve assembly to the actuator valve assembly.

I'm going to try a big flush again incase there is air trapped in the lines and I'll also switch the front globes to the back/back to the front - I can then rule out air and globes.

The globes are not interchangeable front to back

Don’t know, but they run under different part numbers
