Hey everyone!
Just swapped out my center console for an NYX Fab unit so I’ve got these taking up space in the garage.

Hate to just throw it away but does anyone have a use for these or should they head to the dump/electronic recycling facility?

The console is in great shape (I’m keeping the rear 3D printed cupholders though so there will be screw holes in the back)

The speaker works (and is aftermarket)

The CD changer might not work (has power but hasn’t been hooked up in years and only made noises when I tried to eject the 6 disk module before removing the whole thing)

Just let me know and pay for shipping and any of these are yours 😁

Can you share some pics of that NYX Fab console please? I'd like to see how it opens and where. Their site looks like it opens on top and behind the cup holders but it isn't really clear.

Sure thing man. It opens exactly like the original except it is magnets instead of pull handle things. Both storage areas are bigger than the original. It sits slightly higher too, but the difference there is mild. The cupholders are quite big.

Where did you get that insert for a bigger cupholder in the LX 450 console?

So can you give us your review of the NYX Fab console? What do you like? What don't you like? How was the install?

I have a 97 LX450 and the factory console is the one thing I really don't like. No decent cupholders. And a pointless subwoofer and CD changer (at least in my opinion for 2026).

I have long coveted the DeltaVS console for my 93 80, with my only hesitation there being the price. But for my bone stock 97 LX 450 I wasn't sure I wanted the more industrial look that doesn't seem to really fit my nice LX 450 interior.

So this would seem to be a very good option. A little less pricey and a little more stock looking.

I think it’s great! It looks factory and the cupholders are big. Both of the cubby spaces are larger too, especially the bottom one. Would definitely buy again. They are made to order so if I remember right it took the better part of 5 months I think to show up, but it’s very quality and well made.

Removing the old console is easy. Start with basically any bolts you see along the base by the floorboard carpet and I think two on the inside at the bottom of the lower/larger cubby. Then just keep removing whatever bolts you come to until the speaker and CD changer are free to remove. There are two wiring harnesses that you can just tuck under the new console.

Attaching the new console is only 3 parts, a bolt that attaches to the factory bolt hole underneath the speaker at the front and two screw bolts in the bottom floor of the bottom big cubby. Those require a little work because there aren’t originally holes for them to go into in the flat metal support they attach to. I took out the two pre-loaded screw bolts and mounted the front bolt and lined up the console centered. Then I took a drill through the holes in the bottom of the console where I took the screw bolts out. I can’t remember the drill bit size but just pick a decently sized one but smaller than the screw bolts. You make the hole for them to start through and because they are screw bolts when you tighten them they will bore out the holes as wide as they need to be and create their own threads. It’ll make more sense when you see the screw bolts and what they mount to. Easy peasy and holds plenty solid.

Only two small gripes. Instead of the latches on the original console lids they use magnets. That’s fine except flipping open the bottom lid and tilting it back can cause the upper lid magnets to be overwhelmed and fall open and stuff can spill out. Not a deal breaker but I’m thinking I might add more magnets or a tether with a button or something to keep it from accidentally opening.

The other small issue was the hole they drilled for the front bolt was off by like 7-8mm. Considering how well made the rest of it was it was very surprising to see that be wrong as it looked like the easiest part of the whole thing to do. Maybe they gave that minor job to a newbie or something? Thankfully it was easily fixed by drilling it out the hole toward the center and using a couple of large washers to take up the space from there.

Anyway, probably much more than you needed to hear but long story short I like it a lot!

One other thing is I have a bunch of DeltaVS stuff as well and was looking at the center console for a while but never pulled the trigger for the same reason you mentioned. The NYXFab console looks factory.
