It seems that I read somewhere (I think) that ARB only makes the Sahara Bar (yuk) for late model LX's. I'm thinking about getting an '06 or '07 LX, but wouldI want the Deluxe Bar. They make the Deluxe for the L/C (don't they) so what is the difference in the front bumpers that only the Sahara is offered for the LX ? I am hoping I misread the article in the first place.....
The delux bar will fit the 98-02 lx470 but I am not so sure about the 03-07 LX. They changed the bumper and supports a little and I am pretty sure that it will not fit anymore.
Somebody else will probably correct me, but I was under the impression that it was a clearance issue because of the grill.
The LC grill stays in place and only the hood goes up. On the LX, the grill is actually part of the hood and would hit part of the Deluxe. You can fit a Deluxe, you just can't open the hood. Of course, I am wrong alot....
Keep in mind, I don't have a grill on mine, so this is all assumptions.
I do remember somebody having his Deluxe modified so it would work with his LX though.

You can only get the sahara bar for the '98-05 LX (unless you modify the bar and body to force-fit a deluxe bar). I don't even know if there is a sahara bar made for the '06+ LX yet (there wasn't when I ordered in Feb; the is a different model for the '98-July 02, then Aug 02 ('03 model year) through '05. Don't know if the '06 is the same as the '05. You'd have to double-check w/ ARB. If you buy from MAF, have them double check the part number w/ ARB; my '03 sahara bar was listed in their computer as a '98-02 bar, but ARB said it was the correct one for the '03 and they were right.
