I have 2009 LX. Until few days back my A/C was ice cold. My kids were complaining that it's too cold. I was bragging about it being a quality of LX. Next day boom, the A/C went out. No cold air. I had to take it dealer thinking that I may need to recharge my AC. But dealer hit me with $925 bill. $225 for AC recharge and $350 for the part and $350 for labor.
Here are my questions -
1. How frequently this A/C pressure switch go bad? I never thought of a maintenance item?
2. My LX has 125k miles. Is it the age cause of this?
3. What about the legendary quality of LX? I had 2004 ES 330, 2000 Pilot older and more mileage vehicles never had anything like this.
4. In any case does this seem reasonable cost? Or I got robbed by the dealer. Only reason I had to service it at dealer was I needed car for the weekend and the dealership gave me loaner for 3 days.
By the way the loaner I got was a 2019 GX. While it's responsive and good road manners, and good d gas mileage averaging 19 mpg but the interior looked cheaper than a 15 year old pilot. I can't imagine how people would pay premium for it. I will not buy that after driving LX. Sorry for the distraction.
