The family and I, a friend from work (who I am tying to convince to buy a tacoma and wheel it) and his family went down to the reservoir at the end of balanced rock road on Saturday. What a beautiful day. The kids got to go for a little hike, catch butterflies and other bugs, and play a little footbal. We grilled for lunch and then Luke showed up with his canoe. We didn't know he would be down there it was just a coincidence. Anyway Luke went canoeing and we went for our last walk and pakced up and got ready to go. Luke walked over and asked if we had any rope and I asked what for he said some ladies dog fell in the ravine by the dam and it was a 160 pound great dane. We decided to not let him save the huge dog by himself and went up there and gave him a hand. The ladies friends showed up also so there was six guys to handle the task. Anyway to make a long story short we got him up the rocks and luke got the canoe to haul him to the other side and i gave him a ride sown to there parking lot. The dog suffered its back foot pad getting ripped almost completley off and exhaustion. the canoe rescue was pretty cool.

Glad we could help. The girl was standing on top of the dam by herself calling for help so we floated over to check things out, she was pretty hysterical. That was the heaviest dog I have ever tried to lift, I would have never gotten that big Dane out of there by myself. Thanks to all the help and matt's two 100 foot ropes, we made it happen.

Great deed done, you guys are cool in my book!

BUT! That's is why i prefer dogs to weigh as much as i can carry if needed.
