I have a trip in 2 days so I've decided to change my pitch-black brake fluid (and slightly squishy pedal). It hasn't probably been changed since Bush was president.
I bleed one wheel until clear fluid comes ou, then the second, then the third and fourth. Around 1qt of DOT
I use the method where I am under the truck and my son is pushing the pedal once per 2 seconds. Each time he pushes, I lift my finger off the hose. Each time he releases, I cover the hose with my fingertip, like a check valve, to prevent backflow.
I go to bleed the LPSV and first there is black fluid coming, then some air bubbles and then completely nothing. The pedal goes to the floor and no fluid is coming out and no fluid is disappearing from the reservoir... You can press the pedal on an off 30 times and nothing moves. When I let it all sit with engine off (with bleeding valve wide open), no fluid comes out either.
Any ideas?
