When I was in elementary school my parents used to take me to a farm supply store that had an overpowering smell of new tires that hit you as soon as you walked in the door. Everything smelled of tires that you bought there.
One time at her house my grandmother offered me a piece of some marshmallow type of candy that she liked. I ate the first piece politely, but declined a second. She asked why. I said they tasted like tires. Turns out she bought the candy at the same farm supply store.
I too enjoy the smell of a new set of tires for a few minutes, but not in my food.
