yeah lol thats my post on yota tech but i am tryin to find one of these lockers used... and i have a limited slip in the rear of my truck. which seams to work just fine for what i do with it. its just the open up front that kills me, if i ever am actually stuck (once, it was really! bad!) i just basically wanna build my truck to where people know not to challenge me! haha its an everyday driver that doesnt see offroad to often, especially deep mud because of well i was always scared to suck water in, well now that that has happened and i have a snorkel that i am puttin on this week i need to really get serious with it! haha oh and im gonna have 2 other trucks for trails so i dont have to put n e more nasty dents in the pretty yota

oh and i feel like i should tell you all that i am doin a disc brake conversion on the rear of my beast too, and since im on the subject would n e one happen to have
79-85 front calipers
82-85 front discs
82-85 front wheel studs
1/4" aluminum wheel spacer

WTB 96-02 Toyota 4x4

Looking for a donor vehicle with a 3.4L v-6, 4wd, and pretty much complete drive train and wiring harness. Wrecked or blown motor will do, but something that runs would be nice. Hoping to swap it into the Red Dragon.

Wow, that'll be sweet John :bounce: When they introduced the 3.4 in my 95 1/2 Taco I was skeptical to whether they got it right but it was a great improvement over the 3.0. I always liked the 22R revisions and 3.0 they were always durable but lacking in power. The 3.4 with the 5 Spd was a breath of fresh air. Strap on the TRD SC and you add the afterburners  I'll keep an eye out for you I read in the Toyota Owners mag a guy doing the same thing. The donor Taco had rolled. If you don't have the article I can dig it up for you if you want it. :)

Cruzersoul- did you ever buy the 40? Let me know if you did, because I may want to buy some parts from you!

Brian

I found a 79 FJ40 Located about 3 hours east of Lafayette. I am having difficulties in deciding if I want it as a parts rig for my 66 FJ40. I talked to the guy and he doesn't know anything about it other than it was submerged during hurricane Katrina. I will post some pictures of it and let you guys make the decision. Please let me know how much you think it is worth or if someone would be interested in maybe putting some money in with me.

Thanks
Cruzersoul

Axles

Found a guy in Birmingham AL who has a set of pretty well built axles for 1600. I added everything up and the guy has about 3500 dollars into them. The only bad thing is they are set up for spring under. How hard is it going to be for me to make them sprung over. Is this a good deal that I should probably jump on. Let me know. Should I trust the guy or should I have him pull them apart so I can verify all of the parts.

Front Axle-
4:88 ring and pinion
Aussie auto locker
Long Field 35 spline inner and outer shafts
60 series Knuckles
High steer, arms included
ARP studs
knuckle gussets
axle is trussed
asin hubs with long field chromo gears

Rear Axle-
4:88 ring and Pinion
Aussie ato locker
disk breaks
axle truss

Thanks,
Cruzersoul

He certainly has the money in them. It sounds like a decent deal. Did he send pics, has he had these axles on a running rig? I trust most of the guys here on MUD but if their post count is low and the only threads they participate in are their own for sale threads I'm more reserved to deal with them. My .2

As most know we added a Sequoia to the family and though I'm enjoying driving the Santa Fe because of the good gas mpg and giving me time to get the 80 ready for SCC we'll have to part with it. Its now in the Quick Quarter if you know someone looking for a good small SUV.

Here is the info.
Ordered in 11/07 came in from Arkansas Sage Platinum color with grey cloth. Its under warranty 10 yr/100K transferable the dealership has been great. 28,000 miles loaded except the leather and has the bigger... Sonota V6 which scoots pretty good. Has the sunroof, Mobil 1 oil used in it. Asking 19K or make me a reasonable offer. We gave 28 for it signed, sealed and delivered.
