As I was driving home I noticed this moderately loud sound coming from the rear of the truck. It sounds like I wore out my brakes or something but my 200 is a 2013 and only has 31700 miles. It spent it's life in Michigan so I'm wondering if those bad winters are to blame. Let me know if you guys have experienced this... Most likely going to Toyota on Monday to get hopefully resolved.

Can you describe it in a bit more detail? Clunk? Squeal? When does it happen? Accelerating? Braking? Cruising? Over bumps? On smooth road? Constant? Occasional? (if so, when?)...

Sorry about that, it sounds like the brakes are warped and when I turn to the right (sound coming from rear left) it gets louder.

The sound is like metal to metal contact. I'm wondering if the brakes were hot and running through car wash warped them? (Ran through touch less about a week ago)

When I tapped on everything last night everything seemed tight unless something is wedged behind backing plate.

I would also note it is not a constant noise but following a pattern of:
- - - which would seem like something was bent.

Wow

Air brakes?

super low resistance and weight saving. New style

I'd check the spare tire and make sure it's tight / snug in the carrier.
If you feel modulation in your brake pedal id be inclined to have the rotors checked.

Yea I think I'm just gonna take it in. I will keep you guys posted. Although no car is perfect I'm glad I get to have these types of issues verses car won't start or running crappy.

Have you ruled out a stone trapped between the backing plate and the rotor?

I hit the backing plate pretty hard and drove it around but no change. It could quite possibly be though.

I will let you know what dealer says tomorrow, I was wondering if someone experienced something like this before. If I remember I will take a video or sound clip tomorrow for better understanding of what I'm hearing.

A recording would be helpful.
