looking for someone to fix the rear sill correclty

well i was poking around (literally) my fj40 and pushed my thumb through 3 different spots where the PO had patched up a rusted out rear sill

anyone out there got a contact of someone (with previous exp.) who may be interested in fixing this thing right? Ive talked to a few body repair guys and they all use bondo. Id like to purchase one of these sill replacements and get it done right (with metal)

I recently replaced my rear sil in my 1978 FJ40. To tell you the truth it actually wasnt that hard to do at all. And I am pretty much learning everything as I go along. I believe that any reputable body shop should be able to undertake such an endeavor. My suggestion would be to purchase a sil replacement and the cover that goes on top of it from an online store such as coolcruisers or rockymountaincruisers. Then just take the parts to the body shop and explain what it is you want done. The late thing you want on your cruiser is a bunch of bondo. Working part time at a body shop I have seen some of the most hideous body work from half inch think layers of Pep Boys bondo to thin layers of sheet metal just riveted on. Replacing the metal is the way to go. Good luck and just try to find a good smaller shop that is willing to do the job right/
