Whoah... I am in land cruiser heaven.... I am staying in Uganda for work for the next week and crapping my pants over all the 70 series land cruisers here. While I love my pig, I sure do get a woody over those troopies.... Just thought I'd tell you all how cool it is to be so close to them. I don't get to see too many in California. I'll post up a few pics when I can. Driving my coworkers nuts with all my blather and slobber every time one passes us on some gnarley road. Where are the pigs?

Yeah, I see them all over in Costa Rica, New Zealand and Oz too. I kinda consider the 70's as a modern version of the pig. The lines are so similar.

Flying home today. I did not see any pigs here in 12 days of travel and work all across the country and villages.:frown: Did they import them to East Africa? Going to Bolivia in Feb. Hope to see more there.

Um......

where are the pics of what you DID see??

processing.... just spent 30 hours on planes and standby. I had terrible connection speeds in Uganda. I'll post up a couple. Mostly 70 series.

Pardon the ignorance...

What's a pig? Saw this thread and was intrigued since my family and I are living in Northern Uganda. You definitely see a ton of 70-series trucks up here, some 80s, and a good amount of 105s; sadly even some 200s are starting to show up through the UN. You don't really see anything before a 70-series here in Ug.

(Currently driving a colleague's HZJ105 while I wait for the FZJ80 that was just purchased for us.)

Yep, no piggies in Uganda, that we saw. I drove my partners nuts always pointing out cruisers.... especially ones that we don't get here in the US. Anyway, here are a couple photos of ones I saw. The yellow troopie kept me up at night. The green 75 gave us a ride in the back as our ride couldn't make it through the mud. The funny thing about the green rig was they kept stopping at every muddy spot to lock in the hubs, put it in 4wd then stop, take it out, unlock the hubs and carry on. We were passing through so many muddy spots I wondered why they didn't just keep it locked. Enjoyed the noise from the diesel.... mmmmmm diesel.....

This should probably be in the 70 section, but oh well. We can appreciate other cruisers can't we?
