4.4.7. Every modified vehicle shall be equipped with a parking brake system which:

If it is a factory parking brake, it would be legal. State laws can be a pain in the butt to deal with some times.

So now you are telling me that if a FJ40 drove up to tech you would pass them with a transfer case p-brake ( cause it was "stock" )but the mini with an all pro tcase pbrake behind him would fail?

Also, what defines a "modified" truck?

I didn't say I would fail it, I think the all pro brake is a much better system then stock.

In Minnesota we have a fender flare law, that is very vague.

Every passenger automobile shall have fenders, or other devices, that are designed to prevent, as far as practicable, water, dirt, or other material being thrown up and to the rear by the wheels of the vehicle.

Some think that anything sticking out is illegal, others are pretty loose with it.

you can go to our club site to read all of the modified laws. and as mike c , and others have said it is up to the inspection tech.
we have to get a special inspection, if our trucks are lifted, even one inch, or if you are running tires 3 sizes, above the biggest recommended stock tire. then comes the fun part finding a modified inspection station, there is only one that i know of in my county, so you are stuck by that guys interpretation.

So what does this have to do with CMCC tech inspection?

i never said what i was talking about had to do with cmcc inspection, i was telling chris that the allpro e brake might not pass state inspection, and if the stock e brake is like allpro on an fj40, they it will pass it is only if you modify the brake you would have a problem. and you might not have a problem with an alpro set up i do not have one so i have never tried, i am going to ask him when i take my truck in for inspection this time.

I wonder about these?
Jamar Line Lock

will they pass a TLCA tech inspection?

chris i do not believe our inspection will allow the allpro e brake, or the line lock.
you could look for a cable from an extended cab pickup and it should be a little longer.

I guess I assumes that "our" meant the CMCC tech inspection that he asked about.
:meh:

Tim and I looked at mine today..........it appears the rear cable is to long because its not for toyota...........my center section toward the front will adjust alot so at least I will be good for cmcc

I still want the ball vale as a secondary...........I really think its a good idea. After having the baby and taking the kids wheeling I have been feeling I need to bump up the saftey a bit.

Thanks for your posts Jason;)
4.4.7.3 makes it sound like the line lock or ball valve option may not pass tech. Depending on who is searching.

There is nothing that would prevent the Driveline Pbrake from passing tech by these rules.

Remember, almost all FJ40's had a driveline parking brake.

i would NOT use the electric line locks as a pbrake. Only the mechanical ones or a ball valve.

Just as a side note. Not allowing linelocks as pbrakes at events is shooting yourself in the foot IMHO.

Thats ok man........I did talk to my father in law he said he didnt think they would fail it if I had it as a secondary as long as I get a modified inspection sticker..........like I do anyway however he added the ball valve by itself is a big fail
yea since we live in WV that is what our meant.
i do know he ask about the tech inspection but i also know his truck has to pass state inspection, so i should have worded it differently.
