How does the AHC handle weight of Bumpers and Aux Fuel tank?

Several builds on this forum fully kitted out and still on AHC. It'll handle about 1800 payload stock. Easy mods to take it further to 2000lb+.

I've had mine on scales towing an 8k trailer for a long trip weighing in at combined 15,620 lbs. 8,580lbs on the LX axles which is about 2200lbs payload. AHC dials everything right in and handles the payload with confidence and comfort. Best part is pull everything off back near stock weight, and it dials everything right back.

IMO, it is best of both worlds: super luxury daily driver/family hauler/road tripper plus all of the same off-road reliability and capability of the LC.

For less money, mind you.

The only reason I can see going LC in this case would be you just have to have the Land Crusier moniker (or find Lexus as a brand to be too showy for your uses), or you’re going to be doing serious overlanding/remote expeditions where the added complexity of AHC versus fixed suspension introduces risk to your ability to complete field repairs in the event you have failure of some component (mind you, AHC if maintained properly has proven to operate effectively into 300k mile range by 100 and 200 series LXs (as far as I know, others may know rigs that have gone even further)).

Have both.
21 HE and a '19 LX570.
Wish the LC had the thigh extender from the LX driver seat bottom. That is a feature I wish I had on the LC driver seat.
Also would like to have the vehicle adjustments from the LX570. You can make all kinds of vehicle adjustments without going to the dealer including interior lighting, tap to turn etc. on the lX570.
Would like the Radar Cruise Control that brings you to a stop as well.
Also would like the second row ventilated seat feature on the LC.
Would really like the rear privacy screens built into the door cards-no idea why these were never included on the LC.
Lastly the touch sensitive overhead lighting feature that I wish I could swap out into the LC overhead console and LX has a rear light in the rear hatch next to the third row seat controls that illuminate the trunk that I wish I could incorporate into the LC.
With that being said, in my opinion the LC looks more sporty especially with an upsized tire and I think the design will become even more attractive and over a 20-30 year period will become 'classic'.
The LX is definitely more contemporary in design and as with previous iterations, is slightly more attractive than the LC counterpart but looks are always subjective.

Both are very smooth and extremely capable.
Having one of each…great idea!

Test drove several and neither is any sort of a drivers car, unsure why anyone says that was part of their decision, they are 3 ton reliable cruisers.

That's a quite interesting perspective. We also test drove multiple LXs and LCs prior to purchase and felt like the later had a bit more road feedback in steeling and less float (stock for stock).. which was ultimately part of deciding factor in getting the LC (along the lack of stupid nav joystick and AVP snow plow grill).

I’ve had both. The lc200 with expensive suspension and an lX on 35s.

Love them both, I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Right now the lx is the better choice for us. The more time we spend in the the more the lines get blurred between two platforms. We found an lX way below market with 120k and jumped on it without hesitation and haven't looked back.

Also, there is nothing stopping us from building the lx into anything you could with a LC200. The aftermarket support is there, the wallet and the wife’s perceived “ROI” well… that’s another story.

In my opinion, the brand notoriety of the LC is the only missing piece. That bothers some. I got over it.

We've had both and loved things about both. In the end it came down to the fact that we found the LC to represent our taste and style better, we simply like the front and rear of the LC better. The interior is sportier and more understated and that fits us personally better. I prefer KDSS to AHC but I don't knock AHC like some, but I don't find it to be superior either like some others. There seems to be a very defined line and camps in regards to the two systems, I find that silly. You will almost always find a better deal on the LX and that's a large appeal for many and I get that. 200 Series Cruiser owners aren't judging those that own an LX as fake nor are LX owners looking down their noses at Cruiser owners, it's all one love here. At the end of the day they are very much the same vehicle so grab whichever one speaks to you more or whichever fits your budget better and don't look back.

Just curious what made you get rid of your LC in favor of a LX from the same year? Both look great btw!

Not intentional at all. Someone saw my lc200 on Instagram and offered a silly amount for it. I essentially bought the truck put 10k in mods drive it for 50k miles and still made out green.

I was looking for another LC200 and the LX popped up for well below market. Flew to CA that night and grabbed it.

Like I said, I didn’t make any real decision based on the model. They are both great and the differences are too subtle for me to be picky. I love all 200s, we buy them to use them. I couldn’t think of a better vehicle for this stage in my life and the best deals are my deciding factors.

I was curious because your LC looked nice. I thought maybe it was totaled or you thought you'd try something else and just ended up coming back full circle haha. We actually traded in our 2019 LX570 on our LC because we preferred the looks of the LC so that does happen haha. You LX looks great too, nothing but love.

I love that and totally understand. There is something about a white LC. If I remember you also sport the terra interior, that’s my favorite combo for sure.

If I were to to it again… I would grab a 16+ LX to build. They really grew on me and I love what they turn into when built with intension.

As for now, I have a few more things to wrap with the lx over the next year, mostly just bumpers and lockers/4.88s. At that point it will be a better vehicle than my 200 was. Also, it was cheap enough that I don’t mind beating it up a bit. It’s also has a boat load of PM just done so money can go towards modifications, not a full baseline.

At the end of the day, the LC namesake holds value and for some that makes all the difference. I 100% can relate.
