Looking for a 55 project(maybe)

I have always really liked the 55 but I have never gotten around to having the time or money for one. So now I still dont have the time or money but am thinking a little harder on getting one as a project. I have a 95 FZJ 80 and am constantly on the 80 portion of mud. The 80 will probably get moved over to be the DD after the project is finished or near finished. Is there an area in the 55 arena that gives a newby such as myself any info on what to look for when shopping for a project. There are really only two things that I am concerned about.(I think) 1) It has to be cheap(upfront) in order for me to convince the president that it is doable. 2)RUST FREE(or close to), I suck at bodywork and welding. Im not sure if this is too much to ask. I appreciate any and all input, and I look forward to getting to know guys in the 55 area. Because if this goes down I will be full of questions a plenty.

Cheap is relative, but your best deals are found here.

Rust is a big deal. Depending on what you want (stock or not) try to find one that is as close to fiished as possible. Some parts for these things are tough to find.

As others have said, watch the rust. My Pig was in good shape, but it was originally sold in Bakersfield and finally ended up in Arizona.

I found mine pretty clean up in Oregon for $1000 at the end of the day... Definitely was a happy camper.. It is a huge project (it was really a body and frame only) but no complaints at all. Deals can be had and rust free can be had. Also look east, Arizona specifically!
