You can also build the harness and controller yourself. It's not difficult, especially if you have a friend that's an EE or EE Tech. This link is for doing the conversion in a mini truck, I assume it would be the same in an 80. His circuit diagram works/ is correct, I've got mine wired as per his diagram except for the transistors for the "in between states" led(I bought a flashing red one from Radio Shack). If you are talking about the same kit I think you are I have worked with it on a friends buggy and I was not impressed.

I haven't seen it and that wouldn't surprise me. I enjoy making stuff like that so I built my own. The other upside to making your own from Radio Shack components is there's a Shack in every town, so if you burn out a component, it's easy to find replacements.
