Well Folks - I pulled the trigger a couple of nights ago on the local 09. I realize I should have looked further South or West but the fact that it was a one owner locally owned and maintained by a local dealership was too much.

I felt even better after I spoke with Tim @ IPOR about the condition and adding an OME suspension when the time is right.
Now the fun begins. I've ordered the weather tech's and I'm now looking at tires and suspension options.

I do have one question - its been pretty cold here that last few days and when I've started it up it sounds like the secondary pump is kicking in (close to glove box) for about 3 (30 second rounds) to get pumping. Is that normal? Seems odd.

Once Again I appreciate everyone's advice and insight.

Great thread. I'm looking at 2013 200's right now and this advice has been very helpful - thank you Oriz for the post, and congrats on your new rig!
Does anyone have any advice for Oriz on undercoating his new rig, or other preventative work he can do to extend the life of his new truck? I'd be pretty happy to hear it myself.

I just typed "rust" into the search box at the top and got this list, which includes a lot of relevant info. If you click on several of the results, they'll lead to very helpful threads on that cover it pretty well:

New joiner here. I'm looking at getting a 200 also (maybe a 100) and have been researching what to look out for here in the rust belt and how to prevent the rust once I get it. Great thread here! I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with it oriz. Seems we're in a similar mindset

Like don't coat it til you remove the rust?

Just for comparison:

I bought my perfectly clean, rust-free (heck...even DUST-free) 2008 with with a mere 48k miles on it for $39k in 2015. To me...an extra $5k is worth it for zero rust and half the miles.

The underside of my year-older...half-the-mileage machine makes that one look like a rust-bucket. Not to say that the one you posted looks terrible...but simply that I think you'd be surprised how "new" a vehicle you could find if you ventured into the salt-free regions of the country. Bought mine in southern California. Not kidding...it was literally perfect. People thought it was new.
You must have bought a California 200 during the drought.

I also bought my 100 series here back in 2002 when it was 3 years old with 60k miles, and it was just as clean.

Regional buying makes a huge difference. Plus...LA's "Land Cruisers" are highly likely to have never seen dirt even once...
