Welp, I am closer now than I have ever been to starting my trailer build-up. :D This was the last big part of the order before fabrication begins. I have bought everything in reverse order in case I found a good deal on a complete trailer locally... no going back now!

A little more design tweeking now that I have the axle in hand and I am off to the steel house.

Here is my trailer axle from ABC. Randy makes a killer axle. 3" tubing (looks like DOM) cruiser spindles and the works to strap it under the trailer for right around 130+ change.

Impressive little axle... here are a few shots,

1. full shot (cruiser track width)both ends came wrapped up.
2. The 6 lug hub and spindle, check out the thickness of material, the brake flanges are already welded on if I want to add them later on.
3. The easy lube spindles... worth the 10 bucks in my opinion.

Here is one of the two boxes of hardware it came with. Springs, hangers, shackles... stuff like that.

And here is a shot of the track width...

35's are going to be a big tire on this mug, does it look like a trailer yet? :D

When I look at a trailer one of the first things I look at are the wheels and tires. I think you are right on track from the beginning. Can't wait to see more.

I've been waiting for you to start building this trailer for a while. :D

Yeah, me too :D But after getting married just two months ago, getting our house in shape, honeymooning, and all the other day to day things that have to happen, this is going to be a slow build. We canceled our CM07 trip to put the time and money into this thing, so we will see what gives in early May.

When you get this done, i'm going to secretly borrow your cruiser and trailer in the middle of the night and remount all the wheels and tires so the BLACKS face out, instead of the goofy whites!!!

You need to buy Ian some beer and get started on this puppy.

ABC contact?

I may have missed it in another thread, but do you have contact info for Randy at ABC? Looks good.

Randy over at ABC is a one stop shop. He will custom build any axle to any specs you want him to... for no extra charge!

I got my axle width at 55" same as a 40 axle track width, and then just ordered it with the 6x.5 lugs. 10 days later it was at my door. Easy as pie... but I have actually never made a pie.

how's the build coming?

Nothing to report, spent last week in Hawaii on vacation... gotta get back into the swing of things.

Should be starting soon.

 When did an FJ40 and camping trailer enter the "muscle car" realm? ;p

I used to build muscle cars... and I am really fond of the white letters out. To each his own. :D

What weight rating is the axle? You must have specified 3" tube? That is a killer deal. I am officially abandoning my idea of using cruiser spindles. It would cost more and delay my project. I really appreciate the info, ABC it is.
