How do you remove the inner cage and race? The Longfield guts don't have the longer side slots that the OEM birfields do.

To the search police :flipoff2: I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance for posting links to the forty threads already out there that cover this topic.

I just got off the phone with Bobby Long. The answer is a to turn the race/cage sideways line up any two slots with the sides and pry it off. I guess in this case I should have used a bigger hammer.

Bigger hammer = good..

Unless they are ringed longs...

reminds me, I need to get a 27-spline star for my 'busted' one and the spare parts pile...

I usually try to err on the side of caution when it comes to pricey items like Longfields.

I got one side complete last night but the other one was giving me trouble so I set it aside. I have a history of battling stuff for hours then coming back a day or two later and having it come apart effortlessly.
